Choir
At Blinn College, our choir is more than just a group of voices – it's a community. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or just love to sing in the shower, we have a place for you! Our choir ensembles are open to all Blinn students and faculty, no matter your musical background. Plus, scholarships are available for both music and non-music majors. Auditions are held in the fall and spring, so you can jump in when you're ready.
Chamber Choir
If you have vocal experience and want to take it to the next level, the Chamber Choir is the perfect fit. Open to both music majors and non-majors, this group performs a mix of classical and contemporary pieces, including a cappella works. In addition to performing on campus, we travel to high schools and venues across the Brazos Valley (and sometimes beyond) to share our music. You’ll also get the chance to audition for the prestigious Texas Two-Year College Choral Directors Association All-State Choir, which performs at the annual Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention.
Concert Choir
Looking for a fun way to sing and meet new people? The Concert Choir is open to everyone – no experience needed! You’ll learn vocal techniques in a supportive setting while performing a variety of music styles from different periods. If you’ve ever wanted to try singing in a choir, this is the group for you!
Women's Choir
Our Women’s Choir is all about celebrating the beauty of treble voices. You'll explore unique choral pieces written for women’s ensembles throughout history and perform in exciting, non-traditional venues. Whether you’re new to choir or a seasoned pro, this group offers a one-of-a-kind experience.
Opera Workshop
In Blinn’s Opera Workshop, you’ll develop your stagecraft through voice projection, stage movement, and character development. From performing fully staged operas and musicals to special showcases of opera scenes, you'll gain the confidence to bring famous characters to life. Recent productions have included The Telephone, Little Red Riding Hood, and Trouble in Tahiti. Past scene performances featured highlights from La traviata, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Magic Flute. No matter your experience level, you'll be center stage!
Private Vocal Lessons
Want to improve your voice even more? Choir members can take private lessons to strengthen their skills, with advanced students gaining access to weekly master classes and exciting audition opportunities, like NATS competitions.
