Blinn Physical Therapist Assistant Program to host three information sessions this summer

The Blinn College District Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program will host three information sessions for students interested in this fast-growing healthcare career.

Each information session will be held live on Zoom from 3-4 p.m. The sessions will be held on Friday, June 16; Wednesday, July 12; and Thursday, Aug. 10. Students can register for the session of their choice at www.blinn.edu/physical-therapist-assistant/information-sessions.html.

Blinn’s PTA Program provides a solid foundation in the theories and practices of physical therapy. Blinn offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers topics such as anatomy and physiology, therapeutic exercise, patient care, and clinical practice. Faculty members are experienced professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, and they bring significant industry experience into the classroom to help students develop practical skills.

Blinn offers a variety of clinical experiences, including working with patients in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics. These experiences allow students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-world situations, gain valuable hands-on experience, and develop professional connections that can help them launch their careers.

The PTA Program begins in the fall semester and enrollment is limited to 25 students each year. Due to the competitive admission process, it is recommended that students attend an information session and begin the requirements for the admission process early to be sure their applications are complete by the application deadline.

The Blinn PTA program boasts a 100% graduation rate and a 100% pass rate on the national licensure examination in recent graduating cohorts. Blinn graduates have gone on to pursue successful careers in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private clinics, working alongside physical therapists to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, and illnesses.
