The Blinn College District Health and Kinesiology Program has been named one of the nation’s best online programs for the second time in as many months.
BestColleges.com recently ranked Blinn’s Associate of Science in Kinesiology as the 10 th best online physical education associate degree program in the nation. The distinction follows recognition by UniversityHQ.org last month that ranked Blinn No. 6 in the nation among online associate degrees in kinesiology.
“These rankings reflect our commitment to providing students with a comprehensive education in the field of kinesiology,” said Dr. Shelly Peacock, Assistant Dean and Professor of Kinesiology. “We look forward to continuing to shape the future leaders in this dynamic field and are proud to stand among the nation’s best.”
Blinn offers the degree online and on the Brenham, Bryan, and RELLIS campuses. The Associate of Science in Kinesiology covers topics such as anatomy, physiology, nutrition, exercise science, and sports medicine, and students learn the theory and practical application of personal/community health, drug use and abuse prevention, first aid, and athletic training.
The program also provides students with a working knowledge of the kinesiology profession’s many career opportunities, including careers as a teacher, pre-physical therapist, pre-athletic trainer, coach, community health educator, and more. Blinn courses are highly transferrable, and the College’s kinesiology graduates have transferred to Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, Texas State, Tarleton State, and more.
BestColleges.com ranks programs based upon academic quality, affordability, and online competency while using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and College Navigator, both of which are hosted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
