Blinn Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band to headline Saturday concert with area high school musicians

The Blinn College District invites the community to enjoy an evening of live music Saturday as the Blinn College Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band take the stage alongside talented area high school students.

The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center on the Blinn College-Brenham Campus and will serve as the culmination of the College’s first Spring Buccaneer Band Experience.

More than 90 students from 17 different high schools are expected to take part in the daylong event, which offers young musicians the opportunity to rehearse with Blinn students, attend masterclasses with Blinn faculty, and perform together in the evening concert.

“We are excited to be hosting our first Spring Buccaneer Band Experience event,” said Dr. Sarah Burke, Director of Blinn Bands. “We have really enjoyed working with students across our area in the fall during the annual marching band experience and are looking forward to sharing the concert stage with so many future Buccaneers.”
