American Sign Language

Blinn’s Associate of Arts in Foreign Language – American Sign Language is available online and on the Bryan Campus. This 60-credit hour associate degree program includes 14 hours of concentration in American Sign Language. Through the program, students gain understanding of deaf culture and American Sign Language grammatical structures in the United States. Students also learn to effectively utilize receptively and expressively skills in American Sign Language to communicate within the deaf community. The program focuses on communication through the study of deaf culture and ASL grammatical structures.

Debbie Bartley, who has completed two semesters of Czech classes, said taking the course is a way to get in touch with her heritage.
