Anthropology
The Blinn College District Associate of Arts in Anthropology familiarizes you with the differing theories of human origins and biocultural adaptations. The program provides hands-on experience in laboratory techniques and experimentation that usually are reserved only for graduate students and graduates can transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in anthropology.
Certain anthropology courses meet the requirements for International and Cultural Diversity credits at Texas A&M University.

The Associate of Arts degree in Anthropology is intended to match, within the constraints of the Core Curriculum, the course of study for the first two years of a typical anthropology program at a four-year college or university. Daniel McCoy is naturally curious. After stints in the U.S. Army and as a fitness instructor left him searching for more, he discovered the Blinn College District Anthropology Program and hasn’t looked back.
Program FAQ
Blinn courses are highly transferrable, and recent anthropology graduates have transferred to Texas A&M, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas State, Stephen F. Austin State, and more.
Students who complete Blinn’s Anthropology Program and go on to earn an advanced degree can pursue careers in a range of fields and positions, including education and outreach, archaeology, ethnography, international and public health, community development, advocacy, social services, international affairs, and more.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, anthropologists and archaeologists earned a median salary of $61,910 in 2021.
