Clinical Medical Assistant
Blinn’s Clinical Medical Assistant Program includes a curriculum designed and implemented based on nationally recognized training, assessment, and certification standards set forth by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
Clinical medical assistants are medical support professionals who perform clinical and administrative duties under the direction of a physician. Clinical medical assistants perform a variety of job duties, including maintaining patient medical records, scheduling appointments, administering medications, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, and recording vital signs. To enroll in the Clinical Medical Assistant Program, students must first participate in the healthcare information session listed below.
Program Highlights
Blinn's 200-hour Clinical Medical Assistant Program introduces students to medical office operations, equipment, and procedures, and how to apply those in an ambulatory care setting. Once they are equipped with the fundamentals, students apply specialized theory, skills, and concepts in online modules in preparation for the national exam.
The program consists of three online courses: the 32-hour Basic Medical Assistant Technology ($325), the 112-hour Special Topics in Medical Assistant ($1,005), and the 56-hour Medical Assisting Credentialing Exam ($370). Students must take all three courses to complete the program, and scholarships are available.
