Spring 2022 Poetry Contest
The Blinn College District English Department invites all current students to submit their best poetry related to the theme of “hope” for a chance to win prizes.
First place receives $75 plus a book prize, second place receives $25 plus a book prize, and third place receives a book prize. Cash and book prizes are sponsored by W.W. Norton & Company, and winners will be announced in March.
To be eligible, submissions must be submitted by Monday, February 28th, at 5 p.m. Submissions should consist of one typed, double-spaced poem of three pages or fewer and may not contain explicit material. Blinn students should submit a digital copy of their poem (Microsoft Word) to hayley.ellisor@blinn.edu.
Each submission must have a cover page including the title and author’s name, Blinn ID, campus, phone number, and email address. The poem itself should be titled with no other identifying information.
All submissions will be eligible for possible publication in Blinn’s student work journals, regardless of whether or not they place.
