The Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus is offering a non-credit course this spring covering the fundamentals of landscaping.
“Landscaping Basics: From the Ground Up” will be held Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 28 through April 25. The class will not be held on March 14 during Blinn’s spring break.
Instructor David Will, former grounds maintenance supervisor at Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, has been teaching continuing education and master gardener classes for more than 35 years, including at Blinn-Schulenburg.
Will said the $149 landscaping class will cover a variety of topics.
“The class starts with soils and how to get the most from them,” he said. “Other items that will be covered include annuals and perennials, trees and shrubs, pests, and diseases. The class is for anyone interested in landscaping, from hobbyists to professionals.”
The course is open to anyone over 16 years of age interested in starting a landscaping business, working in the field, or landscaping their property.
“Mr. Will is an expert in the field with many years of experience,” said Dr. Becky Garlick, Executive Dean of the Schulenburg Campus.
