Blinn-Schulenburg to offer November medication aide refresher course

Class meets the continuing education requirements set by the state

The Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus is offering a medication aide refresher course designed to meet state continuing education requirements.

The $75 course will be held Monday, Nov. 13, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. It will include specific training and review in the preparation and administration of medications, documentation, licensing standards, safeguarding medications, common drug reactions and side effects, and an update on new medications available.

“The Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires certified medication aides to complete at least seven hours of in-service education annually,” said Dr. Becky Garlick, Executive Dean of the Schulenburg Campus. “This course will allow them to conveniently meet that requirement.”
