Social Sciences


State Government - Students are working with Democratic or Republican Party headquarters or individual candidates on state or local campaigns.

Federal Government - Students are working with Democratic or Republican headquarters for national campaigns.

American History II - Students record the oral histories of area residents with an emphasis on national events.

Texas History - Students record the oral history of County residents and veterans. These oral histories are transcribed electronically and stored at Brenham Heritage Museum.

Sociology - Students are working with Goodfellows, HOSTS, United Way, assisted living, and other organizations that allow students to become more aware of social issues and concerns.

Agriculture

Wildlife Management - Students working with Texas Parks and Wildlife assist in a deer survey for antler scoring and aging, and Hunter Safety Training.

Agricultural Industry - Students work with local agriculture teachers assisting them with clerical and other duties.

Math

Fundamental of Mathematics I - Students considering education as a profession are teaming with HOSTS (Helping One Student To Succeed) and tutoring elementary students.

Fundamental of Mathematics II - Students considering education as a profession are teaming with HOSTS (Helping One Student To Succeed) and tutoring elementary students.

Humanities

Creative Writing - Students are working with the English Honor Society in reviewing, critiquing, and producing a publishable Journal (Vox Populi) of work produced by fellow students.

English 1301 - Students are working with the Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce and developing a pictorial and historical book that describes the unique history of Schulenburg.

English 1302 - Students work with Relay for Life interviewing, writing, and compiling the stories of cancer survivors.

Spanish - Students work with the ESL students at area elementary schools considering education as a profession are teaming with HOSTS (Helping One Student To Student)

Marriage and Family - Students work with local and area shelters assisting the staff of these entities in daily operations.

Technical Writing - Students work with local entities to create reports on the business's problems and possible solutions to those problems.

Fine Arts

Speech - A team of students choose an exemplary citizen, organize an homage, and deliver the keynote speech in front of a community audience.

Stage Movement - Students work with local theater groups assisting in productions.

Acting I - Students work with local theater groups assisting in productions.

Acting II - Students work with local theater groups assisting in productions.

Acting III - Students work with local theater groups assisting in productions.

Acting IV - Students work with local theater groups assisting in productions.

Choral Ensemble - Students volunteer their time to go out to local churches and functions to provide music and entertainment.

Natural Science

Physical Geology - Students are working with the City of Brenham Water Works to test the water quality in Brenham and the surrounding area.

Oceanography - Students have designed a traveling reef that contains star fish, crabs, clams, sea urchins, sea anemones, sea cucumbers, and other ocean life that they take to elementary schools to give children an opportunity to touch and see ocean life.

Zoology- Students are working with the City of Brenham Animal Shelter to assist in the care and management of small animals.

Introduction to Biology - Students are working with the City of Brenham Animal Shelter or the On-Line Herbarium Project.

General Biology II - Students are working with the City of Brenham Animal Shelter or the On-Line Herbarium project.

Botany - In this ongoing project, students are working to create, maintain, and update an On-Line Herbarium. The Herbarium includes digital images from the past 50 years as well as new images of living plants.

Environment Science - Students are working with the City of Brenham Animal Shelter or the On-Line Herbarium project.

Astronomy - Students take an inflatable planetarium out to local elementary and middle schools and engage the youngster in a guided tour of the solar system. Students also work with the Brazos Valley Astronomy Society to meet with public school students during select nights to view the stars and planets.

Introduction to Business - Students work with the Chamber of Commerce to cover local events and help gather information useful to the economic development of the community.

Principles of Macroeconomics - Students identify a local business and research the needs of the business and present cost analysis to the business.

Criminal Justice

CRIJ1313 - Juvenile Justice System
Studies the information pertaining to the juvenile justice system in Texas and the United States. A study of the juvenile justice process to include specialized juvenile law, role of the juvenile law, role of the juvenile courts, role of police agencies, role of correctional agencies, and theories concerning delinquency.

Emergency Medical Services

Students volunteer their time and skill to local clinics, hospitals and ambulance providers.

Vocational Nursing

Students work with local clinics and hospitals volunteering their time and talents

Associate Degree Nursing

Students work with local clinic and hospitals volunteering their time and talents

Dental Hygiene

Students host a Dental Hygiene day where they teach oral hygiene to area youngsters, provide toothbrushes and toothpaste, and donate free teeth cleaning.
