FAQ

It depends.

  • VA regulations will only allow us to certify classes that satisfy a requirement on the degree plan that you are currently pursuing and have declared as your major at Blinn College.  We cannot certify hours for any other reason.
  • Hazlewood for veterans can have all hours paid for as long as they are maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better and have not used all 150 hours.
  • Hazlewood for dependents can only have hours that satisfy a requirement on the degree plan that you are currently pursuing and have declared as your major at Blinn College.  We cannot certify hours for any other reason.

Yes. Even though you submitted the TVC Hazlewood application you must submit a renewal application to receive the benefit in the next academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer).

  • 6 hours in the 10 week session in Summer 1

Once your Annual Certification Request for Military Benefits is received for the academic school year and you are registered for the upcoming semester (in courses that fit your degree plan), your hours will be certified. We do not certify tuition and fees until the census date(s) of the term for students using Chapter 33 benefits.

The only VA benefits that will keep your classes from being dropped for non payment is Chap 31 and Chap 33 (Post 9/11).
