New facility expands access to workforce training and technical education
The Blinn College District celebrated the grand opening of its new Waller Workforce and Technical Education Complex on Wednesday, marking an important step in the College District’s efforts to expand access to workforce training and technical education in Waller and Harris County.
“This is an exciting day for Blinn College, the City of Waller, and the surrounding region,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, Chancellor of the Blinn College District.
Blinn College District begins new era, breaks ground on the Waller Campus
The Blinn College District joined legislators, community partners, and residents on March 6, 2026, to celebrate the historic groundbreaking of the Blinn College-Waller Campus, marking a transformative moment for higher education in Waller and northwest Harris County.
Held at the future campus site at 29638 FM 2920 in Waller, the ceremony commemorated the official launch of Blinn’s sixth campus and the first building on the new 100-acre property. The Blinn Board of Trustees, elected officials, and community leaders participated in a ceremonial turning of the dirt to symbolize the beginning of construction and a long-term investment in the region’s students and workforce.

Students do not need a Blinn parking permit to use the lots at the Blinn College-Waller Workforce and Technical Education Complex or the Waller administrative office.
Washington County is the only county that pays taxes to Blinn College; as a result, Washington County residents pay the in-district tuition rate. Students from other counties, including Waller and Harris counties, do not pay taxes to Blinn College; as a result, they pay the out-of-district tuition rate. Blinn-Waller does not have a bookstore, but students may purchase items online through the Barnes & Noble Official Campus Bookstore website. Please note that upon registration, students will automatically receive their textbooks and course materials at a reduced price through the BucBooks program.
