Form I-20 and F-1 Visa Notice
After completing admissions, it may take 5–7 business days to receive your Form I-20.
- Only the U.S. Department of State issues F-1 visas.
- Blinn College cannot guarantee that meeting admissions deadlines will result in getting a visa on time.
- Please check visa processing times at travel.state.gov and plan ahead.

For co-enrolled students and other visa holders beyond the F-1 visa holders, all documents must be submitted and processed prior to the day before classes begin for the desired academic term. B-visa holders cannot enroll under this visa designation.
Arrival Guidelines
- You may enter the U.S. up to 30 days before your program starts. See the earliest arrival date for term above.
- F-1 students are required to arrive by the program start date listed on your Form I-20. See the chart above for the arrival deadline for your term.
- Do not schedule flights after the date listed as the arrival deadline/program start date for your term.
- Blinn College does not provide airport pick-up.
Housing (Brenham Campus)
- You may not move in early.
- If you arrive before your assigned move-in date, you must arrange accommodation off-campus until your assigned housing move-in date.
F-1 International Orientation (ISO) Requirements
- ISO Orientation is mandatory for all new and transfer F-1 students.
- If you miss or arrive late to orientation, your Form I-20 will be terminated, and you will be moved to the next term. No exceptions.
- Registration for the event is required and sent to the students upon receipt of their Form I-20.
- This is a student only event and guests are not allowed to attend.
- The ISO event is only for F-1 visa holders who have received a Form I-20 from Blinn College. This is not a domestic student event, for all other students please see the New Student Registration (NSR) page.
⚠️ Please note that the NSR events or TEAM/TEAB New Student Conferences will not satisfy the F-1 mandatory orientation requirements for F-1 students.
F-1 International Check-In Process
- F-1 students must complete check-in each semester after arriving in the U.S.
- Check-in opens 30 days before the term starts. You must be in the United States to complete the check-in process.
- You must check in by 11:59 PM on the check-in deadline for your term. See the chart above.
