Foreign Transcripts Requirements

Important Processing Timeline Transcript evaluations can take 3 to 6 months to complete. Because this timeline depends on how quickly your original documents are received, reviewed, and processed, we strongly recommend beginning the evaluation process as soon as you apply to Blinn College. Early action is the best way to prevent delays in admission decisions, visa processing, course registration, and athletic eligibility.

🌍 Evaluation Requirements

An approved NACES evaluation service must evaluate all transcripts from outside the United States, and the completed evaluation must be sent directly from the evaluation company to Blinn College.

❌ Transcripts or evaluations submitted by students or schools — by email, in person, or by mail — will not be accepted.
✅ Only official evaluations sent by approved NACES services are accepted.
✅ Original documents must be provided to the evaluation company for the evaluation to be valid.

How to Submit Your Evaluation

Choose one of the approved NACES evaluation services listed below. Use the specific Blinn links provided to create your account — this ensures your completed evaluation is sent directly to Blinn.

Report Type Requirements

  • College or university transcripts: Must use a Course-by-Course report and include high school transcripts. General reports are not accepted for post-secondary records.
  • First-year students with only high school transcripts: A General report is acceptable.
  • Review the document requirements for your country through your selected evaluation service to ensure original documents are submitted correctly.

Submitting foreign transcripts is a multi-step process, and each stage affects how long it takes before your evaluation is complete:

  1. The time it takes your school or awarding body to send original documents to the evaluation company.
  2. The time the evaluation company requires to review and complete your report.
  3. The time Blinn College needs to process your evaluation after receiving it.

This entire process typically takes 3 to 6 months. Students who start immediately after applying experience fewer delays with admission decisions, class registration, visa paperwork, and athletic eligibility.

You may request a review to see if a previously completed evaluation can be accepted:

  1. Scan your existing evaluation.
  2. Email it with your Blinn student ID to transreview@blinn.edu.
  3. If approved, you must request that the original evaluation be sent directly from the issuing company to Blinn.

⚠️ Provisional or unofficial evaluations are not accepted.

⚠️ Blinn College requires evaluation reports to be complete with original documents. Reports completed using copies or scans of completion documents will not be accepted.

If you attended high school or college in the United States, follow Blinn’s standard admissions process as listed on the Admissions Application Steps website under the “Submit Required Documents” section.

If you are finishing high school outside the United States, please check the High School Requirements section in the International Student Admissions Steps if you require a Form I-20.

  • You must submit final official transcripts after graduation/completion.
  • If you do not need a Form I-20 from Blinn College, you only need to submit your final official transcript evaluation by the Day of Record of your first semester.
  • If transcript evaluations are not received by then, a hold will be placed blocking registration for the next semester.

You must:

  1. Send your original transcript to a NACES-approved evaluation company (see approved services above).
  2. If you use the Evaluation Service links above the company will send the official evaluation report directly to Blinn.
  3. Final official transcript evaluations must be received by the Day of Record of your first semester to keep from receiving a hold blocking registration for the next semester.

Processing reminders:

  • Evaluation companies only begin once they receive your official documents.
  • The entire process typically takes 3 to 6 months, depending on how quickly your documents arrive.
  • Early submission is essential to prevent delays in enrollment, visa processing, and class registration.

  • To participate in Blinn College athletics, your official high school transcript or evaluation must be received and processed before you are eligible to compete.
  • ⚠️ You may still practice and be part of the team while your transcript is pending, but you cannot travel or compete in games, meets, or scrimmages until your athletic eligibility is finalized.

Start the transcript evaluation process as soon as you apply to Blinn College. Starting early is the most effective way to stay on track with your admission timeline.
