Academic Scholarships

The Blinn College District offers the following academic scholarships:

UIL Scholarship - Blinn offers scholarships to students who placed first, second, or third in Academic UIL competition at the state or district meet.

  • 1st Place - $1,000
  • 2nd Place - $750
  • 3rd Place - $500

Students must submit documentation showing their participation and place to be reviewed for eligibility. Documentation for this scholarship must be received before the first Fall semester immediately after the student graduates from high school. Each student who submits documentation will be reviewed to determine their eligibility for the scholarship. Availability of this scholarship can vary depending on student demand. Valedictorian Scholarship: Blinn offers the valedictorian of any Texas high school a scholarship for $1,500 per semester for up to four consecutive long semesters (Fall and Spring). The scholarship must be awarded for the first Fall semester immediately following their high school graduation. Students must submit documentation showing they are the valedictorian at their high school. Availability of this scholarship can vary depending on student demand. Recipients must attend Blinn for 12 or more hours each Fall and Spring semester, earn 12 hours per semester, and maintain a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or better to continue receiving the scholarship. Students who fail to earn a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and maintain a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or better will have their scholarship permanently revoked. Previous recipients cannot regain eligibility for the scholarship. Exemplary Student Scholarship: Exemplary Student Scholarships are available for one year to qualified students residing on the Brenham Campus. These $1000-per-semester scholarships are awarded to the first 50 eligible students. To be eligible, students must have graduated from high school in the most recent academic school year, have a high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have displayed leadership qualities in high school, register as a full-time student taking at least 12 credit hours, and live on the Brenham Campus. Students receiving the scholarship in the Fall semester must maintain a 3.00 GPA to remain eligible for the Spring. Athletic Scholarships

Blinn provides a number of scholarships in varying amounts to its Brenham Campus student-athletes in athletic trainers and managers, dance, men's and women's basketball, baseball, cheerleading, football, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, softball, and volleyball. Fine Arts Scholarships

At Blinn, we are fortunate to be able to offer scholarships to students who wish to participate in music regardless of major. They are valued at up to $1,500 (this top amount typically is able to cover full tuition) per semester. They are awarded based on musical ability and the recommendation of a high school ensemble director. Auditioning for the Music Program also will serve as your scholarship audition. Endowed Scholarships

A large number of endowed scholarships are available to Blinn students. Established as endowed funds, the interest from these funds is awarded annually in the form of one or more scholarships. Information concerning the establishment of a new endowed scholarship can be obtained by calling the Blinn College Foundation at 979-830-4344.
