Blinn College Austin County Scholarship

The Blinn College Washington County Scholarship provides eligible local students with up to $2,250 in their first year after high school, helping make college more affordable and accessible. Beginning fall 2026, this scholarship can be used for more than tuition — giving you greater flexibility to manage the cost of college.

The scholarship is made possible with the support of the Blinn College Foundation.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible, you must:

What the Scholarship Covers

The Austin County Scholarship may be applied to a range of college expenses, including:

  • Tuition
  • Fees
  • Books and supplies
  • Campus housing
  • Food service (meal plans)

Award Details

  • Up to $2,250 total in your first year after high school
  • Up to $750 per semester for up to three consecutive semesters
  • Covers up to 12 credit hours per semester
  • Awarded on a last-dollar basis (applied after other financial aid)

Who Is Eligible

To qualify for the Austin County Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a Texas resident who has resided, paid taxes, or owned property in Austin County for at least six consecutive months prior to enrollment
  • Graduate from a public, private, or home school or earn a high school equivalency (December 2025 or later)
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Apply to Blinn College through ApplyTexas
  • Submit the Blinn Endowed Scholarship Application
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA at Blinn College (for renewal eligibility)

How You Can Use It

You can use the Austin County Scholarship toward:

  • Academic transfer courses
  • Workforce training programs
  • Credit and non-credit courses

Courses are available online or in person at any Blinn College campus.
