Blinn TEAM FAQ

Explore essential FAQs for Blinn TEAM students, covering registration, advising, transportation, and financial aid for a seamless academic experience.

Students will register for their first semester of Blinn classes during their scheduled Texas A&M New Student Conference (NSC); however, they are encouraged to register early for Blinn classes before the day of their NSC. Their welcome email will contain information for self-advising and early registration.

No. Blinn TEAM is only offered through the Texas A&M freshman admissions process. Students who have not started taking college coursework after high school graduation and are interested in applying for admissions to Texas A&M may contact the Texas A&M Office of Admissions or visit here for more information about the freshman admissions process.

If you are a current Blinn student and are looking to transfer to Texas A&M, please contact the Texas A&M Office of Admissions or visit here for more information regarding the transfer application process.

RELLIS does not offer on-campus housing; however, the Bryan/College Station community has a wide variety of housing options available for students.

Students can also apply for housing on the TAMU campus.

Students attending the RELLIS Campus can use their own vehicles for transportation between the two campuses. Students must have a parking pass for the RELLIS Campus that will also be used for the main Texas A&M campus. Please contact Texas A&M Transportation Services for more information on parking passes.

Texas A&M provides bus transportation for students taking classes at the RELLIS Campus. Students can use Route 47 - RELLIS to get between Texas A&M and the RELLIS Campus. For more information on Texas A&M bus routes, please contact Texas A&M Transportation Services.

If you are riding the bus, allow at least one hour of travel time. If you are driving, allow at least 45 minutes of travel time. An hour may be needed during peak travel times (8:00 a.m., noon, and 5:00 p.m.).

Students may use their TAMU parking pass to park at RELLIS. Please contact Texas A&M Transportation Services for more information on parking passes for the RELLIS and Texas A&M campuses.

No. Since each institution has its own rules, policies, and deadlines, please make sure you are meeting with the correct advisor for the matter you need to address. For example, if you have a hold preventing your registration, you will need to consult an advisor from the institution where the hold is in place.

If you are unsure who you need to contact, please see the following:

Blinn or TAMU Issue

You are most likely choosing the wrong campus by mistake. When searching for classes, always choose the "Advanced Search" option.

Please see the Registration Information page for help with using the advanced search option in myBLINN.

All TEAM students are required to attempt at least 12 credit hours per regular semester; 3 credit hours of which must be taken at TAMU. This means that you may Q-drop below the required 12 credit hours, if needed.

Maybe. Students may submit a change of curriculum application if/when they have:

  • Completed two or more regular semesters
  • Maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at both institutions
  • Satisfied all entry requirements for their intended major

Always consult a TAP advisor for help with this process

No. To be forced into a course, you must go speak with the division chair of the department for the course you want to get into.

No. You must register yourself through your myBLINN portal.

No. If you are not seeking a degree from Blinn, it does not matter what your major is. More often than not, Blinn does not offer the same majors as Texas A&M.

See the Blinn Registration Guide

Any transferable college credits earned prior to beginning the program will count toward the 36 required Blinn hours. This includes any credits earned through testing (i.e., CLEP, AP, etc.), and includes any credit by exam awarded by Texas A&M on departmental exams (such as for modern language proficiency). While such credits count for programs purposes, grades earned at other schools are not used in the calculation of the Blinn grade point average. Once a student begins the program, only courses taken at Blinn and/or Texas A&M will count toward completion of the remaining program requirements.

The Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan (TGTP) may be used at both schools simultaneously, but students must follow the procedures for both Blinn and Texas A&M each semester.

Blinn: Take your TGTP ID card to the Financial Aid Office prior to the Blinn payment deadline. A copy of your card will be placed on file, and you will be asked to complete a TGTP authorization form. The Financial Aid Office is located in the Bryan Campus Administration Building at 2608 E. Villa Maria Road, Bryan, TX 77802.

It depends. Most students will take 2-3 classes at Blinn and 1-2 at A&M each semester.

Students complete all their financial aid through the TAMU Financial Aid Office.

Students are eligible to apply for Blinn's Endowed Scholarship at: https://www.blinn.edu/scholarships.

Any outside scholarships should be sent to the TAMU Financial Aid Office.

For more information on making payments to Blinn, please click here.

Students who are going to utilize Hazlewood benefits must apply and provide documentation to both the Blinn and TAMU Veteran Services offices.

Students utilizing VA educational benefits must submit all paperwork to the TAMU Veteran Services Office and request a PIL (Parent Institution Letter) be sent to Blinn so that the hours they are attending at Blinn can be certified to the VA.

Your Blinn ID number will be e-mailed to you within five business days of the date of your confirmation of acceptance (registration for your New Student Conference) to Texas A&M University. Please note that the e-mail can be filtered by your e-mail spam filter so be sure to check your junk e-mail.

If you did not receive this email notification, please contact the Blinn Help Desk.

Read more about Blinn TEAM's payment processes here.

The TEAM Program works well for most majors offered at TAMU. However, computer science and engineering are not good options for TEAM, and it is not recommended that students interested in those majors pursue TEAM admission. Instead, engineering students might explore the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn-Brenham or Texas A&M Engineering at Blinn.

Each student will be responsible for paying Blinn directly; Texas A&M does not send money to Blinn. To view payment dates for Blinn, please visit the current Academic Calendar.

Students not receiving any scholarships and/or financial aid at Texas A&M must meet the posted regular payment deadline.

Students receiving scholarships and/or financial aid at Texas A&M must meet the deadline for TEAM students receiving financial aid.

For more information on making payments to Blinn, please click here.

To view Blinn’s registration dates and deadlines, visit the Academic Calendar.

To find which books you will need for you Blinn classes, visit the Blinn College-Bryan Campus Bookstore webpage.

Your Texas A&M University meal plan is only valid on the TAMU Campus and for associated TAMU food venders. Students attending the RELLIS Campus will have access to food, but it will be cash or card only. However, the Houston Street Deli, which is located on the RELLIS campus, will accept TAMU student meal plans and dining dollars.

No, the RELLIS Campus will have resources available to students on site.

As a student in the Blinn TEAM program, you can save money due to Blinn’s affordable tuition and fees. For information regarding Blinn rates, please visit our Affordability page and our Catalog.

All TEAM students should plan to take Blinn courses on the RELLIS Campus only. However, under certain circumstances, Blinn TEAM students may request a campus override to take one, or more, courses needed for their intended majors . This override may only be granted for the following reasons:

  • The course is not offered on the RELLIS campus and does not have an online format option.
  • It is your final semester in TEAM, and the course is needed for you to transfer fully to TAMU.

Campus overrides for TEAM students will not be granted for any of the following reasons:

  • Preference for a course format
  • Preference for a course instructor
  • Preference for a course location
  • Preference for a course time

If you believe you qualify for a campus override, please email the Blinn TEAM Program Manager, Caleb Mullins, and include your Blinn ID number, the CRN of the course, and the semester you need it for: team@blinn.edu
