How to Take the TSI Assessment

Step 1: Apply to Blinn College

  • Complete the ApplyTexas application for Blinn College.

  • Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (required before you can take the TSI).

Step 2: Schedule Your TSI Appointment

In-person testing is available by appointment at the following locations:

  • Brenham Campus:

    • Testing available Monday-Thursday.

    • Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged.

    • Schedule a Brenham Campus Appointment

  • Bryan Campus:

    • Testing available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

    • Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged.

    • Schedule a Bryan Campus Appointment

  • RELLIS Campus:

    • Testing available Tuesday and Wednesday.

    • Note: Visitors must pay for parking.

    • Schedule a RELLIS Campus Appointment

  • Schulenburg Campus:

    • Call 979-743-5226 to schedule an appointment.

  • Sealy Campus:

    • Call 979-627-7997 or email sealy.testing@blinn.edu to schedule an appointment.

Step 3: Pay Your Test Fees

  • After you schedule your appointment, you will receive an email with instructions on how to pay.

  • Testing Fees:

    • Full Test (English Language Arts & Reading + Math): $30

    • Single Section (either ELAR or Math): $10

    • Essay Retake Only (must have completed essay portion previously): $10

Important: All testing fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Step 4: Prepare for Your Testing Day

  • Arrive on time for your appointment.

  • You must bring a valid, physical photo ID to your testing appointment.
    Accepted forms of ID include:

    • Blinn ID card

    • Driver’s license

    • State-issued ID card

    • Passport

Digital copies or photos of your ID will not be accepted. If you do not present an acceptable physical ID, you will not be allowed to take the test.

Step 5: After You Test

  • After you complete your TSI Assessment, you can meet with an academic advisor to plan your next steps.

  • Visit our Meet with an Academic Advisor page for advising hours and availability.

ProctorU is an online proctoring service provided through a contract with the College Board's TSI testing program.

  • ProctorU is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by appointment.

  • The fee for using ProctorU is $28, in addition to Blinn College's TSI Assessment fees.

If you would like to test through ProctorU, follow these steps:


Step 1: Apply to Blinn College

  • Complete the ApplyTexas application for Blinn College.

  • Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (required before you can take the TSI).


Step 2: Check if ProctorU Works for You

  • New to ProctorU?
    Create a New User Profile here.

  • Used ProctorU Before?
    Log in as an Existing User here.

  • ProctorU Fees:

    • $28 paid directly to ProctorU.

    • Appointments must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance.

    • If you schedule sooner, you must also pay an additional On-Demand Fee:

      • Within 24 hours: +$8

      • Within 72 hours: +$5

Important: Before scheduling your ProctorU appointment, you must have a voucher number from Blinn College (details in Step 3).


Step 3: Request Your Testing Voucher

Do not schedule your ProctorU appointment until you have your voucher number.

  • Complete the Voucher Request Form to notify Blinn College that you would like to test through ProctorU.

  • After submitting your form:

    • You will receive an email from the Blinn Testing Center with instructions to pay the Blinn TSI Assessment fee ($30 for all parts, $10 for one part).

  • Once payment is received, your voucher will be emailed to you directly from Accuplacer.
    (Be sure to check your spam/junk folder!)

Voucher Processing Time: Your voucher will be processed within three business days after payment is received.


Step 4: Prepare for Your Testing Appointment

On the day of your test, you must have:

  • A valid, physical photo ID (driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport, or Blinn College ID).

    Digital copies or photos of your ID will not be accepted. You will not be allowed to test without a valid physical ID.

  • Your testing voucher number.

Note: ProctorU may have additional technology or environment requirements. Please review their guidelines carefully when scheduling.


Step 5: After You Test

  • After you complete your TSI Assessment, you may meet with an academic advisor to plan your next steps.

Remote testing is available for students who live outside the Blinn College District area and are unable to test at one of Blinn's campuses.

Follow these steps to complete your TSI Assessment at a remote location:


Step 1: Apply to Blinn College

  • Complete the ApplyTexas application for Blinn College.

  • Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (required before testing).


Step 2: Find a Test Center Near You

  • Use the Accuplacer Testing Center Lookup to find a convenient testing site.

  • Important: Most remote testing centers charge a separate proctoring fee, which you must pay directly to them. This is in addition to the TSI test fee you pay Blinn College.


Step 3: Request a Remote Site Voucher

  • Complete the Blinn College Remote Site Voucher Request Form.

  • This form notifies Blinn that you intend to take the TSI at an approved remote location.


Step 4: Pay Your Test Fees

  • After you submit your voucher request, Blinn College will email you instructions to pay your TSI Assessment fee.

  • Testing Fees:

    • Full Test (English Language Arts & Reading + Math): $30

    • Single Section (either ELAR or Math): $10

Step 6: After You Test

  • Once you have completed your TSI Assessment, you may meet with an academic advisor to plan your next steps.

  • Visit our Meet with an Academic Advisor page for advising hours and availability.

If you have taken the TSIA within the last five years, you may submit those test scores to be used at Blinn by completing the Test Score Submission Form (you will be asked to log into your myBLINN account).

You may also submit the Score Request Form to have Blinn pull your previous score reports. Please allow up to five business days for processing.
