Vocational Nursing Certificate- Traditional Option

Traditional Option

The traditional option is a face-to-face 10-month program that is held in person Monday-Friday on the Brenham Campus. The program starts in August and ends in June. Students come to campus (or clinical site) for all lectures, labs, and clinicals. The hours vary according to the day, and the semester.

In the Fall semester, there are 4 classroom days and 1 clinical day. Classes start at 8:00 am and typically end between 4-5:00 pm. The clinical day begins at 6:30 am and ends at 5:00 pm.
In the Spring semester, there are 3 classroom days (2 for theory classes and 1 for on-campus clinical activities) and 2 clinical days. Classes start at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. The clinical days begin at 6:30 am and end at 5:00 pm.
In the Summer semester, there are 2 classroom days and 2 clinical days. Classes start at 8:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. The clinical days begin at 6:30 am and end at 5:00 pm.

Students spend approximately 40 hours in class/clinical per week in addition to study and prep time. It is advised students not seek employment while in the program.
